Logging into the Vizion Platform

For the best Vizion Platform experience, be sure you are using the most recent version of one of the following browsers:

  • Mozilla Firefox

  • Google Chrome

  • Windows Edge (Chrome-based only)

Internet Explorer browser is not supported.

In order to use the Vizion Platform, users must be set up with a username and password by their Administrator. If you need help with login credentials, click the link on the login screen.

Logging In (Without SSO)

If you are logging in without an SSO provider, access the login screen, enter your username and password, and click Log In

The Username field is not case-sensitive.

Using SSO

You can save your preferred SSO provider and then skip the login screen on your next login
attempts. To save your SSO provider, on the login screen, make a SSO selection for Please log in with and switch on Always use “*” and skip this form next time.

After clicking the Continue with “*” button, the system redirects you to your preferred SSO provider, and you are logged in to your Vizion Platform system.

Once you log in successfully, the selected SSO provider is saved as your preferred provider. Then
when you return to the Vizion Platform system, you will automatically be redirected to the
preferred SSO provider and skip the login screen. If you do not have login success after selecting a
preferred SSO, the system will not save the provider, and the login screen will be presented the next
time you access the system.

  • This feature does not affect FieldVizion and login for Excel VBA Template.

  • /LoginFull.do URL can be used to show the login screen even if the user has a preferred SSO provider.

  • If the Default Provider option is enabled for a SSO provider, this provider will be used over the preferred SSO.

Resetting a Password

If you forget your password, click the Unable to login? hyperlink on the Login screen. This will present a popup window to enter your email where the reset password will be sent. When you log in using the auto-generated reset password, you will be prompted to change it.

Another way to change your password is to use the Change Password button on the General Info tab in your User Settings. See Change Password on the Configuring User Settings page.

Language Choice

The login screen provides an option for the user to select the Language option for the Login page. The user’s selection will be stored in browser cookies. After logging in, the user can see the language selection in User Settings. Any changes made in User Settings will also get saved to the browser cookie.

When using SSO, User Settings will be applied for Language selection.

Login Administration

Setting up Users

Administrators should use the User Trackor Browser page to set up new users in the Vizion Platform system. For detailed information, refer to the User Browser documentation.

Password Administration Information

Password composition and expiration are controlled by rules. Our two default rules included in new installations are “Check Password Strength” – executed when a user changed their password - and “Password Aging” – executed nightly.

In general, we recommend the OWASP password strength control guidelines.

  1. be more than 10 characters

  2. have 3 of the following 4 requirements:

    1. at least 1 uppercase letter

    2. at least 1 lowercase letter

    3. at least 1 digit

    4. at least 1 special character

The expiration time of the temporary URL is controlled by the System parameter "PasswordRecoveryTokenExpirationPeriod"

If users require a specific language for the "Change Password" button, This is controlled with System Label 3913.

The new account/reactivation box is controlled by System Parameter (AdminEmail) and System Label 6001.

Language Choice

Listed options for language choice will be in ‘Localization->Languages.' The user’s selection will be stored in browser cookies. Subsequently, the Login page will be set to the option stored in the cookie. If there is no ‘LangID’ in the browser cookie, then the value stored in System Parameter “DefaultLoginPageLanguage” will be used.

See Languages for information about the languages available in a system.

Optional Checkbox on Login Screen

We have a System Parameter LoginScreenCheckboxLabel, the value of which is a set of label texts in system languages along with a checkbox for the Login screen. If the parameter is configured for the language set by the user on the Login screen, the checkbox and text will display.

Administrators can decide how to use this parameter. Many organizations will use this feature to get consent to receive SMS messages which is often required at the point of log in. Then the system will use the checked, unchecked, or null data and proceed with sending SMS messages if consent was given.

The value of the checkbox is available in the Login Attempted (After) rules where the rule author can decide how it should be handled. The value of the checkbox will be saved in Cookies and the checkbox will not show a second time after the user checks it.
