Languages

The default language in a Vizion Platform system is English; however, additional languages can be added so that a user can choose the language they are comfortable with. Users can make their language choice in User Settings or the Login Page. See Configuring User Settings or Logging into the Vizion Platform.

In addition, the added languages can be used to edit labels in other languages. See System, Tenant, Task Labels.

The OneVizion Internal language is English and cannot be changed for labels. This language stays consistent in the system for translation purposes.

Adding a Language to the Vizion Platform System

Administrators can add language options on the Languages page. These languages are then available as options to users on the Login Page, User Settings, and for changing label text.

Complete the following fields:

Language ID* - Contains an identification number for the language code. This is usually the next number in the list of languages displayed in the grid on the Languages page.

ISO Language Code* - Indicates the ISO 639 Language Code used for displaying the selected language in the internet browser. Options will vary according to the user's configuration.

Description* - Contains the description of the language (e.g., Russian or OneVizion Internal).

Content Type* - Contains the content type (usually text/html; charset=windows-1252).

Is Hidden - When selected, it makes the language unavailable to users in the Vizion Platform system. Use this option when building labels for a particular language and do not want the labels to display to users yet.

Initialize all the labels from language* - Contains the language code that pre-existing labels will be generated from for the language code being added. The list of languages set up for the system are available for selecting.

For example, users may have a primary set of labels set up in English and want to add another set of labels in an internal language. When creating the internal language code and initializing the labels from English, the system will create a matching set of labels for the internal language code based on labels for the English language code.

4

Click OK.

Deleting a Language

Delete a language by highlighting it on the Languages page and clicking Delete. Deleting a language permanently removes it from the database, and any labels in that language will be removed as well. Proceed with caution - this has database-wide impact on the user experience and potentially rules and reports.
