Views

 

Views are used to establish the columns that will be shown on the trackor browser grid.

 

Admin Notes

 

Administrators may create Folders for Views which can be assigned to specific Users/Groups.

Administrators may choose to Show/Hide the View button by selecting the Security Role SHOW_VIEW_BUTTON.

Administrators can create a default View for Trackor Selector and Trackor Multiselector Fields on the Edit Field page.

Organize Views

Views and Filters can now be created/updated within a single applet. To open the applet click on the drop-down arrow.

 



 

Adding a View


Access the View Options Form on any page with an application grid by clicking the Organize link, then selecting the Add icon.

 



Field

Value

Folder Name

Required - Name for the view/filter.

Create In

Required - Choose Local or Global.



 The Default View will consist of the Fields on the "General Info" tab.

 

IF View/Filter contains 0 records the folder will NOT appear in the drop-down.

Group By

There is view option that allows you to set a 'GroupBy' column and keep it with View Options.

 

Compact View

View Option to switch "Compact" to enable compact mode for a specific View. This option will be available on all user (trackor-specific) grids:
Trackor Browser, Tasks View, Tasks Overview, Summary, Workflow, Mapping, E-File Browser

When the compact mode is turned on all rows in a grid will be displayed in a single line. Long field values will be trimmed with an ellipsis. E-File fields will be displayed without any preview - only the file type icon and the file name will be shown. Wiki fields will display text only without additional formatting (original view will be available in edit mode)

Freezing Columns and Highlight Changes

These are controlled by using the .Use the  to control the number of columns to be frozen in the View.

Use the   to control the number of days that the updated field will be highlighted.



Sort By

To sort by multiple columns, users may also use the View Options to apply sorting to the grid.





The Sort Panel allows users to add fields to be sorted on. Up to 3 columns can be selected – when a field is selected the next drop-down will appear. In the screenshot, if a valid field is selected using the drop-down, a third drop-down field will appear in GUI. The fields can also be dragged and dropped to change order within the fields.

Editing a View

To edit a view by selecting it from the drop-down menu and clicking the Edit Icon.

After you make your changes to the View, you can click on the Unsaved View dropdown to see a list of Views that you can overwrite.




Saving A Global/Local View

When you have edited a View/Filter, click on the Unsaved View Icon

 

Choose whether to save as a Local or Global View. In this example, we have saved this as a Local View.

 

 

 

Deleting a Saved View

To delete a view/filter by selecting it from the drop-down menu and clicking the Delete Icon.

Folders may be moved up or down the list by using the Up or Down Icon.

Assigning a Security Role

When a new global view is created, the system automatically assigns the security role based on the default assignments set up for each security role. Users who are assigned to the same security role will be able to access the global view. However, the administrator can also assign additional security roles (in addition to the default role) to a global view directly from the application page. For example, create a global view from the Trackor® Browser page, then assign a security role without having to leave the application page.

To assign a security role to a view option from the application page click the Sec Roles Assignments icon. To assign the view select the checkbox beside each of the security roles to be assigned to the view. To edit a Security Role click the hyperlink and open the Edit Security Role applet. 

 

 

 

Making a Local View/Filter Global

To reassign a view/filter by selecting the Local view/filter and click on the Global Icon.

Components Packages

When you select the ellipsis, you will be given the option to link the filer to a component package. Administrators can assign or unassign View to or from a components package(-es).







Setting up the Grid Row Editor

Administrators may set up the Grid Row form to enable users to update data while in the Grid Row Edit form of any given Trackor Browser. This is helpful when there are multiple trackors to be updated. 

From the View Options form select the Row Editor Fields tab. Drag and drop the fields that users need on the Grid Row Editor form.
