Glossary

The Vizion Platform is a complex evolving technology that requires specific terms to describe the features and functions adequately.  However, where possible OneVizion uses glossary definitions provided by Amazon Web Services as described in https://docs.aws.amazon.com/general/latest/gr/glos-chap.html

Admin Center

The Admin Center allows administrators to securely monitor and maintain the applications within the OneVizion platform.

Administrative User

A user within the OneVizion® system with elevated privileges to configure and monitor solutions, integrations, and users.

Applet

The OneVizion functionality is used to extend features of existing Applications. An example would be the groups of Tabs associated with a specific Trackor Type.



App Center

The App Center allows administrators to display applications specific to your company's needs. VizionPackages which include Project Management are also located in the App Center.

Application Page

A unique page within the OneVizion system that contains a specific configuration Component.



Application Bar

The bar above the Grid Bar that lists things such as; Views, Filters, Relations, and User Controls.

Application Server

The server that runs all non-user interactive processes

Audit Log

A standard application within the OneVizion system that logs all Field changes, including the new field value, the user making the change, the date/time of change, and the process making the change. The Audit Log contains the information users can access using the Field History tool to expose field change information for any Field.

Automation Trackor®

The Automation Trackor automatically updates Trackors when a specific event is triggered in the system.



Best Practice Documentation (BPD)

A OneVizion system feature used to capture user notes and/or requirements regarding an Applet or customized functionality.

Bulk File Upload

A powerful data collection tool that enables users to quickly upload multiple files to specific Trackors. Any type of E-File can be uploaded to a Trackor Record if the given Trackor Record has an E-File Field associated with it.

Command Icons

Icons on the Command Bar that initiate functionality to manipulate the records in the Grid.

Component

A Component is a basic entity or building block in the OneVizion platform – fields, tabs, applets, reports, import, dashboard, view, filter, and vtable are all components of the OneVizion platform.

Component Audit Log

A log that shows the history of all changes made to a Component – changes could be made by a system user or an API or a rule. The timestamp and the source of change are stored in this log.

Component Export

Component Export provides users the ability to export specific components from one OneVizion environment to another. This is typically used for promoting component changes from one environment (e.g. UAT/DEV) to another (PROD). The Component Export capability generates an XML file that can then be imported into another environment.

Component Import

Component Import provides users the ability to import Components (and their changes) from an XML file that was generated using Component Export, into a OneVizion environment.

Components Package

A collection of components constitute a Component Package. A component package can be used to identify a group of components that are part of a functionality or an application.

Configuration

The configuration of the OneVizion platform refers to capabilities that are set up using the Admin pages. 

Configurations refer to:

Design pages:  Trackor Type, Trackor Tree, Fields, Tabs, Applets, External Tabs, External Applets, Trackor Classes, Views, Filters,  Menus, Dashboards, WorkFlow Templates, WorkPlans, and associated Tasks, System Images, and Trackor Tours.

Administer pages: Configured Date Pairs, Imports, Reports, Database Jobs, Disciplines, Languages, Notifications, Portals, Processes, Program and System Parameters, Public Map, SSO, Validation Tables, Labels, and User Administration.

Database Documents (DB Docs)

Provides detailed technical information regarding Tables, Views, PL/SQL Packages, and Entity-Relationship Diagrams.

Database Packages (DB Packages)

A OneVizion functionality that allows an authorized user to create and store PL/SQL packages that can be called through a Rule or the Administer PL/SQL Blocks Application Page.

Dashboard

A OneVizion functionality that allows existing data to be aggregated and visualized in a graphical presentation.

Dashlet

The individual components of the Dashboard that shows a graphical representation of the desired data.

Date Pair

User-defined date pairs that are assigned to the WorkPlan Template. Date Pairs can be used for any number of reasons including multiple baselines, contractor forecasts, and contractor actual dates.

Default Data Import 

OneVizion functionality that allows for the quick creation of Imports.

Dependent Fields

A type of  Field whose value depends on another Field's selection.

Dev Center (Dev Team)

The Dev Center allows administrators and developers to design and build applications inside the OneVizion Platform. The DEV team works on the web system and mobile apps focusing on programming new features, fixing bugs, etc. The DEV team consists of programmers - Back-end: ORACLE & JAVA. Front-End: HTML/JavaScript/CSS.

Discipline (DISCP)

A mechanism used by OneVizion to maintain relationships between grouped Tasks and Users within WorkPlans.

DropGrid®

A tool that quickly loads data into OneVizion. Used to set up new Trackor Types, Fields, Tabs, and Applets, as well as import the subsequent data.

Duration

The total span of active working time required to complete a Task, generally from start to finish as defined by the Program schedule/calendar. It is limited to days only.

Electronic File (E-File)

A computer file of any sort stored in OneVizion.

E-File Browser

OneVizion functionality enables a user to see all E-Files in a OneVizion page from a selected Trackor Type in the Trackor Tree.

Entity

Functionality within the Mappings Tab of the given import template. It contains the mapping logic of an import template; composed of a destination Trackor Type, field mapping logic, and any necessary PL/SQL translation logic.

Epic

A collection of issues related to a feature.

Field

A defined property of a Trackor Type that is used to store data.

Field Name

The unique name identifier for a Field.  Adheres to database naming standards of no special characters and no spaces.

Filter

A feature that determines the rows displayed in the Trackor Browser Grid or an Application Page. A Global Filter is a Filter that is accessible to everyone in the OneVizion system. A Local Filter is accessible only to the user that created it.

Forms Designer

The front-end Applet used for assigning Fields to Tabs.

GUI Serial Number

Every GUI Element in OneVizion has a serial number in the upper right-hand corner that is hyperlinked to a Best Practice Document Item. By default, this is off and can be managed through User Options.

Gragile™

Business consulting services, namely, providing tools, methodologies, steps, and tasks in the nature of strategic recommendations for maintaining and storing data when configuring software application platforms; business consulting services, namely, providing tools and methodologies for transferring data from external databases to internal databases in the nature of strategic recommendations for preventing data loss and preserving data integrity, application functionality, and business processes; database management services; database management services, namely, updating and managing data in computer databases.

Grid Row Editor

A tool to quickly modify individual Trackor Records by entering or modifying data directly into  Fields. The Fields that can be altered will be affected by the current View.

Grid Command Bar

The "ribbon" that appears on all selected Trackor Types and Application Pages that holds Command Icons and/or all applicable Applets.



HTTP Call Log

Used in OneVizion to perform a data exchange with external systems.

Import

A template created within OneVizion that is used to load data into the system.

Info Center

The Info Center provides deep administrative access to the Trackor® database including data, documents, work plans, and workflows. The extraction, reporting, ingestion, and management of information is all managed within the Info Center.

Information

OneVizion term referring to a combination of data, tasks, and steps.

Integration Hub

The Integration Hub acts as a hub for control, monitoring, and aggregation of integrations. Integration Hub allows you to quickly view the status of integration, and view information about a run of integration. 

Issue

A defect, feature, or improvement. An issue is created and attached to a case when additional work is needed for case resolution. It is assigned an Issue ID number.

Label

A feature of the OneVizion system that allows most static text strings to be customized.

Locked Field

An assigned status of a Field means only Users with appropriate privileges can alter the value.

Menu Application

A navigational device used to point to specific OneVizion Application Pages or external web pages. May contain sub-menus and/or drop-down menu items.

Multi-Tenant

A single instance of OneVizion and all supporting infrastructure serves multiple users, with each customer sharing the OneVizion platform and database. Data is tagged in the database as belonging to one user or another, and OneVizion can identify the user and the associated data specifications.

Navigation Pane

The area of the system that holds the Menu Application and the Search Bar. Located on the leftmost side of the screen.



OneVizion Stack

The collection of AWS resources that make up the operating platform for OneVizion.

Portal Views

The Portal Page is a unique feature that allows the user to create and mix different screen layouts to support data review, data collection, or both. Portal Pages can be placed as an application item as appropriate to support the desired functionality.

Predecessor

Specifies the Task ID of the Task that must be completed prior to beginning work on the current Task. If multiple tasks must be completed prior to the start of the task, the Task IDs are separated by commas (i.e., 12, 14SS, 18FF+5).

Privilege

Refers to the type of security applied to a Security Role. The types are combinations of R.E.A.D. (Read, Edit, Add, Delete) and None.

Program

A collection of specific Client business requirements organized into OneVizion Configuration(s).  Refer to Multi-Tenant.

Program Parameters

Used to change or alter the values of Program-specific parameters in the OneVizion system.

Rule Classes

The codes framework for customizable business logic of Rule. Only one Rule Class can be selected for a given Rule

Rule Types

Predefined execution points or trigger events in OneVizion that cause a Rule to execute.

Rules

Used to extend the OneVizion platform with customizable business logic (PL/SQL). The framework for each Rule is defined by its Rule Class and the execution condition is known as the Rule Type.

Security Group

Represents a security checkpoint in the OneVizion system that is only accessible if a user is assigned to an appropriate Security Role

Security Roles

A collection of assigned privileges that control a user's ability to access, view, and modify data in the OneVizion system.

Selector

A Selector contains the list of available menu options. The application groups and items that appear in the drop-down depend on your user permissions and the configuration of your system.

Successor

Specifies the Task ID of the tasks that will be started after completion of this task. If multiple tasks will follow the completion of the task, the TASK IDs are separated by commas (i.e., 12, 14).



Stranded Information 

Business consulting services, namely, providing tools, methodologies, steps, and tasks in the nature of strategic recommendations for maintaining and storing data when configuring software application platforms; business consulting services, namely, providing tools and methodologies for transferring data from external databases to internal databases in the nature of strategic recommendations for preventing data loss and preserving data integrity, application functionality, and business processes; database management services; database management services, namely, updating and managing data in computer databases.



System Images

The images are available for use as icons within the OneVizion system. These icon images can be uploaded to meet specific client needs or disabled if no longer needed.

System Parameters

System Parameters contain specific system-wide controls that can be altered and assigned to users by an Admin User.

Tab

Used to organize the Fields of a Trackor Type in a customizable and meaningful display within an Applet.

Task

An individual piece of quantifiable work that can be monitored in OneVizion.

TCE

Technical Customer Excellence. It is the team that helps configure application customization requests.

The TCE team focuses on enhancing products through the GUI, working on application configuration, etc. TCE also supports customers, troubleshoots customer issues, and provides feedback for Epics, Issues, and Documentation.  The TCE are not programmers.



Trackor®

An individual data record of a given Trackor Type.

Trackor Browser Grid

The grid that displays the Trackor Record data related to a specific Trackor Type.

Trackor Classes

A OneVizion feature that allows users to organize the properties for each Trackor Type and its Trackor Records into a logical grouping of Apps / Tabs in support of specific business functions or data requirements.

Trackor Restrictions

The use of a Parent Trackor to control READ access to one or more Children Trackors. Implemented with a many-to-many relationship to control access.

Trackor Tours

Step-by-step walkthroughs using a graphical user interface to show how to do a specific process in OneVizion.

Trackor Tree

A visual representation of all accessible Trackor Types and their parent-child relationships within the OneVizion system.

Trackor Type

The primary containers for organizing Trackors to represent the data of the business process or object. The Trackor Type must first be created before creating your Trackor.

Usage Log

OneVizion system functionality that allows an Admin User to see system usage and performance. Every page that is hit by a User is logged and audited with performance metrics.

User(s)

A user is a person who has a username/password access to OneVizion.



Validation Table

A set of defined values that can be assigned to a Field for the data types of Drop-Down, MultiSelector, and Selector.

View

The OneVizion capability used on most pages allows a user to pick which columns to display. Global Views are accessible by everyone in the system, whereas Local Views are accessible only by the user that created them.



Vizion Hub™

Providing temporary use of non-downloadable computer software for electronic project management and document management; providing temporary use of non-downloadable computer software for task and project issue tracking; providing temporary use of non-downloadable computer software for accessing project materials; providing temporary use of non-downloadable computer software for accessing project materials, namely, training materials, project management documents, time records, project, and contract terms, and project performance metrics; providing temporary use of non-downloadable computer software for electronically managing customer requests; providing temporary use of non-downloadable computer software for electronically managing customer requests, namely, requests for services and reporting software bugs and errors; providing temporary use of non-downloadable computer software for electronic communication, messages, and conversations.

VizionPackages

OneVizion Preconfigured Applications that give customers the fastest route to a successful OneVizion implementation – and the fastest route to a competitive advantage.

WorkFlow

OneVizion functionality that utilizes a set of Steps that are designed to automate business processes and minimize user involvement in decision-making.

WorkFlow Templates

A template that consists of all the WorkFlow Steps including decision points and instructions listed in the order in which they occur during the WorkFlow.

WorkPlan

A Task-oriented schedule that facilitates a tracking and forecasting solution. This is created from a WorkPlan Template and can be assigned to a specific Trackor.

WorkPlan Template

A set of Tasks with schedule logic that can be used repetitively to create WorkPlans. It can be assigned to a Trackor to provide a unique task-based schedule.
