Tip of the Day
The Vizion Platform supports a Tip of the Day message that can be displayed when a user logs in. These messages typically contain useful hints for working in the platform and to help users be more efficient with and have a better understanding of the system they use to do their job. The tips provide a quick and easy way to gain system knowledge that the user may never discover any other way.
In addition, Administrators can edit the tips with new information and even add graphics and links if desired. This ability keeps the Tip of the Day entries fresh and practical for users.

How Tip of the Day Works
The Vizion Platform system holds up to 31 versions of Tip of the Day text and images. Each day of the month, a different tip will display for users when they log in. The user can click through the available tips on the Tip of the Day window by clicking the forward and backward arrows. Administrators can refresh these tips by adjusting the corresponding System Labels. See Administrator Tasks for Tip of the Day.
Users can click the X or the Got it! button to close the Tip of the Day window.
Enabling / Disabling Tip of the Day
To enable the Tip of the Day feature, switch ON the Tip of the Day setting in your User Settings. (The typical default for a system is to have this feature OFF.) To disable this feature, check the Don't show again button on the Tip Of The Day window OR switch off the Tip of the Day setting in your User Settings.
Steps to Enable/Disable Tip of the Day in User Settings
Click your User Name.
Click User Settings.
On the General Info tab, switch the Tip of the day setting to the desired position.

Changing a Tip of the Day (System Labels)
Tip of the Day messages are created using System Labels. The Label IDs for "Tip of the Day" are 8001 through 8031, ie. 8001 = 1st day of the month and 8031 = 31st day of the month. For more information, please refer to the System Labels documentation.

Adding an Image to the Tip of the Day
To add an image to the Tip of the Day, Administrators add the URL of the image with any necessary BBCode to the System Label.
Steps to Upload an Image to a Tip of the Day

Open the System Labels page and find the label you want to add the image to and click Edit. Tip of the Day labels represent the days of the month and are System Labels 8001-8031.

In the Edit Label form, paste the URL. Add BBCode - [img] at the beginning and [/img] at the end as shown. |

The Tip of the Day with the added image will now display upon login (on the day specified for the label) for users with the Tip of the Day User Setting switched ON. |

Setting the Tip of the Day Default Parameter
The Vizion Platform allows users to control whether or not they see the Tip of the Day. Typically systems default to not show the Tip of the Day in which case users have to turn it on in their User Settings in order to see them. See Enabling / Disabling Tip of the Day.
Administrators can change the default for the Tip of the Day setting with Tenant Parameter UserDefaultShowTipOfTheDay. No means new users will have Tip of the Day turned OFF, and Yes means new users will have Tip of the Day turned ON.
If Administrators would like to instruct existing users to use Tip of the Day, they could send a system-wide announcement instructing how to turn on the feature in User Settings. For more information, see System Announcements.
